Instead of investing in proven solutions, the administration is doubling down on cruel and ineffective policies that strip people of their rights, lock them into dangerous institutions, and punish them for having nowhere else to go.

  2. What exactly does this mean, before I panic? Does this mean everyone who's ever had mental health treatment?

Also, lol, good luck trying to institutionalize all those people. We don't have enough beds for the cases we do have.

  3. Medicaid funds InHome Care allowing the Autistic adult to live independently plus there’s the Section 8 voucher. Cuts to Medicaid affect these services. Could cause homelessness as a result which then qualifies that person as homeless with a mental disorder….off to an institution.

  4. Criminalized for being poor. They desperately want people in prison to work the fields. Slavery 101. 🤬🤬🤬

  5. Right now in FL, Ronald Dion has been arresting homeless people for months. So now our jails are full and they can’t fit all the undocumented immigrants they want to arrest too, so now he has a new $250M grant program for local police to build tents to house more immigrants and homeless people…

  6. Solzhenitsyn described prisoners who were thrown into the Soviet gulags for having been diagnosed with mental illnesses such as "sluggish schizophrenia," when really they were imprisoned to suppress their political opposition.

  7. Homelessness is complex. But we are unlikely to make sig progress until we make housing affordable.

Researchers find “housing costs explain far more of the dif in homelessness than substance use disorder, mental health, weather, the strength of the social safety net, poverty, or economic conditions”

A new analysis of rent prices and homelessness in American cities demonstrates the strong connection between the two: homelessness is high in urban areas where rents are high, and homelessness rises w...

  8. When does Mengele (Kennedy) start his sick experiments on them? … what a country. The ones who could stop this but allow it to continue should be the ones institutionalized.

  9. And undo all the work Ronald Reagan did getting us in this mess in the first place? WTH Donald, show done respect for the psychopaths that came before you.

  10. This is outrageous to criminalize homelessness and mental health disabilities! There it is people; ICE is now going to determine who has mental illness! All of those death camps are for the homeless, the mentally ill and whoever disagrees!!!

  11. Cruelty is key

“The White House order builds on a landmark Supreme Court ruling last year that said it's OK to punish people for sleeping outside even if they have nowhere else to go.”

  12. It isn't just criminalizing. They want to lock people away in institutions for mental disabilities, drug and alcohol addiction etc. They will use drunk in public or smoking Marijuana as a reason to arrest people also.

  13. AND, he wants a list of people diagnosed with Autism, though I’m thinking he won’t get all the names ….. Hope he doesn’t.

  14. Trump and his band of flying monkeys have been building private prisons with contracts to folks that bribed him. The federal government/ our tax payer dollars pay for folks incarcerated. Of course, they are going to find people to put in there. Black folks, gay folks, Trans folks, poor people.

  15. So now, being homeless is a crime???? And how do they define "mental health disabilities"???? Is it now a crime to seek counseling?

  16. Very dangerous. Red states will categorize gays & democrats as mentally ill and use it to ‘institutionalize’ anyone they don’t like.

  17. It can get difficult at the camps to tell apart all the different categories of prisoners, so a colour coded guide can be useful.

  18. This goes hand-in-hand with destroying the Department of Education. They'll deny education rights to special-needs kids, and lock them up in asylums.

  19. So if you can get a medical professional, or someone adjacent to a medical professional, to declare someone as mentally ill, you will have a legal path to have them institutionalized. This should terrify every person in this country.

  20. What are they running out of non white people? Gotta meet Miller's quota. What societal group is next? Stay tuned and find out next week.

  21. Maybe I'm wrong, but isn't it cheaper for taxpayers to help these people rather than incarcerate them? If you can rehabilitate someone into a functioning member of society, that's also economically better (not to mention morally)

  22. Please fucking tell me that this is fake, or even slightly over exaggerated.

if I am mentally disabled or homeless, will I just go to a shelter/mental hospital? Or will I go to jail?

    (sorry I suck at writing)

  23. WTAF is this?

Trump is not a fucking emporer. He can't just decree that homelessness, addition, and mental health issues are crimes.

And more important --- legislatures can't do that, either (or shouldn't be able to)!

  24. It won’t hold up in court but it the opposite of Reagan’s deinstitutionalizing the mental hospitals in the 80s

  25. Felon47 is the epitome of mental health disability. Will he be criminalized and institutionalized?

  26. We solved the problem everybody, it's illegal to be disabled. Awesome. 👍👍👍👍👍 (Heavy, heavy sarcasm, you should riot. I TOLD you these buffoons were Hitler)

  27. Coming from a compulsive liar that clearly suffers from a mental health disability this just smells a lot like fascism... American must understand that Trump is following the NAZI playbook since day one...!

  28. Can we PLEASE talk about how all of this stuff, including the ICE concentration camps, is profiteering by the privatized prison industry?

We aren’t seeing any stories about this.

Trump’s entire agenda is built around benefiting lije 2 corporations who both donated massive sums to his campaign.

  29. STATES please don't use our tax dollars for any Inhuman Things, Republican voter Suppression, Redistricting tactics or Presidential Bribery Extortion or Racial Injustices! United STATES please stand up against All Racism, Extortion, Bribery, Pedophilia, Money Laundering and this Tabloid Presidency⏳

  30. It's a massive industry with little oversight and enormous profit margins. Via this 'advice' from POTUS, it potentially opens up around 60 million people in the US to forced incarceration without effective treatment, depending on state laws (most of which are woefully inadequate)

Private equity groups are cashing in on rising rates of alcohol and drug addiction in the U.S.

Some addiction treatment centers turn big profits by scaling back care

  31. Ok but really…isn’t this don jr (addiction and probably mental illness) and the Pedo-fuhrer himself (mental illness and addiction)??!! The hypocrisy is so glaring.

  32. "vagrancy" "loitering"

These words should sound familiar. You heard them in history class, the chapter after the Civil War.

  33. And nobody is asking how will he pay for it. We would need hundreds of new prisons just for the homeless, this would cost well over $100 billion. Another $30 billion per year extra to maintain [staff, food, electricity etc].

  34. Ask ChatGPT: “Were the Pilgrims dumped in America like convicts in Australia because they were insane?” We are still living in side thier crazy

    1
  35. They'd need an Arlington sized cemetery for the amount of dead cops this would lead to. Do they think people with serious impulse disorders, delusional paranoia, and suicidal thought are going to peacefully go? Unless they plan to just target people with depression.

    2
  36. Where would he put them? People say camps they are building. That's silly. There are 50 million Americans minimum that are mentally ill. The largest prison on Earth has 40k inmates. So you'd need to build around 1000+ prisons and they'd all need a capacity higher than CECOT.

  37. TRUMP Dictatorship If you want a picture of the future, imagine a boot stamping on a human face—for ever.

1881 Chicago 1% In the long run, a hierarchical society is only possible on a basis of poverty and ignorance.

  38. and as he further trashes all the safety nets, this will become more common, and the reason they're handing out billions for states to build more detention camps. horrifying.

  39. Until Democrats win in Congress, then they will let them all out at once like Reagan did and blame Dems failed policies. Same old garbage.
