BREAKING: A federal appeals court affirmed that Louisiana's state legislative districts dilute the power of Black voters and must be redrawn.

  1. Meaningless I'm afraid. I've seen this before. They'll appeal to the Supreme Court who will okay it OR they'll just re-submit another terrible map, and repeat.

Wow, I bet EVERYONE with Half a Brain could see that. I’m betting that the ROBERTS COURT (the one that actually said Racism DOESN’T exist anymore 🤬), will find a way to say it’s not racist.

  3. Unfortunately, SCOTUS is still in a position to change voting rights enforcement forever and trending in that direction for a while.

  4. That will be appealed and, depending on whether they get a MAGAt judge, likely overturned and blocked.

    We're losing democracy.

  5. Is this 5th circuit? If so this is extraordinary. 5th is maybe the most conservative districts in America.

  6. Black voters in Louisiana will finally be heard!🗳️

⚠️ BUT—we must stay vigilant & loud to ensure they truly give us fair maps—drawn by an independent, nonpartisan commission, free of party influence.

  7. Appeal to the SCOTUS, ruling will come back no standing, each individual black voter needs to sue to remain in desired district. Those individuals case judgements will be singular and not apply to any other similar case. Class action not permitted.

  8. LA will drag their feet until it is too late to correct the map before 2026. We saw this happen previously in AL. Then John Roberts will find some way to allow them to weasel out of it after the 2026 election.

  9. I’m sure the Christian Nationalist racists on the Supreme Court will overturn this in the shadow docket. If they do offer some comment, it will be Alito conjuring up some obscure 9th Century Latin literary bullshit.

  10. I bet it doesn't happen. Here in Ohio our supreme Court of Ohio has declared that the GOP has gerrymandered the districts. The gop's response was we're not doing anything about it. And their votes stood in the last election

  11. Yes, which then is appealed to SCOTUS who rules that Republicans can kill their political opponents at will and consume their flesh for the life force.

We know how this is going to turn out. How about you post about your strategy for that?

  12. Maybe, Louisiana will finally get actual representation, instead of creepy campaign-finance-fraudsters who use false Christianity to disguise the evil they commit. Maybe, their representation might even choose to serve the people of Louisiana, rather than to line their pockets with donor money.

  13. But Louisiana will appeal to the Supreme Court, which will stay the lower court ruling until they hear arguments, which they'll schedule for January, with a decision in June, which will be too late to allow districts to be re-drawn for primaries and the general...

  14. Clarence, Sammy the Fish, Neil, Kevin, Roberts, and likely Amy Coney Island are likely to disagree.

Clarence, particularly, doesn’t think black voters should have any rights.

Clarence is still busy burning all those ladders that he used to climb up to the Supremes. Gotta keep Harlan Crowe happy.
