Funnily enough I don't remember reading similar front pages when Jeremy Hunt bought seven luxury seaside apartments from a Conservative donor, in breach of his government's own money laundering rules

  1. Aren’t the Sun and the Mail in favour of people working hard, getting on in life, making a bit of money and investing it in assets for their future? Or is that only for Tory people?

  2. It’s only ‘aspirational’ if already wealthy privileged Tories amass more wealth. Working class types grafting, bettering themselves, getting educated & achieving …..not really ‘cricket’!

Or when the clown Johnson was ‘loaned’ £800,000 from an anonymous donor whilst PM…

  4. Totally agree - barely a word spoken about Hunt, nor all the money Johnson squandered on his properties and exotic lifestyle. MSM need to be help accountable

  5. In reality it’s only her second home as one of them comes with the job so offers no security of tenure as many farm workers know all too well.

  6. Anyone who gets rich in politics is dodgy. I agree the Tories are hypocrites. I think it's more important to look at the standards. Politics was always dodgy but a sense of standards has pretty much gone. Same with the media. Speaking of which... 🤔

  7. Viscount Rothermere, owner of the Mail, net worth of £1bn, struggles to get by on an estate consisting of 4,700 acres, 14 farming tenants & 40 residential properties. The Mail used to support Oswald Mosley’s fascist Blackshirts & now supports Nigel Farage’s fascist race warrior Orcs.

I knows hypocrites, so is Starmer calling himself an human rights lawyer copying Farage over Migrants, wanting to scrap judges and replace them with a panel to deport them quicker, why doesn't he join Farage party

  9. And, by buying 7 in one purchase, it was classed as a business, not residential, purchase - meaning he paid significantly lower stamp duty on each flat than a regular buyer would have paid.

But hey, who cares about facts or comparisons when the press have an outrage handle to crank?

  10. Also one of the properties she “owns” now is a grace and favour flat, so… she doesn’t own it? And there’s no suggestion she wouldn’t pay the 100% council tax increase so there’s no hypocrisy there either. The tabloids just really, really hate her.

  11. Ah yes but he’s a Tory and anything is acceptable from them. It’s only Labour MPs that must represent the working class, even those working class that don’t believe social class exists. They must take no holidays ever or have lives of their own - seems fair. Grow up journalists, you stale nobodies

  12. This is just symptomatic of the concerted MSM campaign to undermine the current government. I didn’t vote for them, don’t support them, but they were democratically elected. Starmer needs to realise he can’t pander to them and needs to kick back starting with Leveson 2.

  13. True, Adam, but why don't you actually challenge them on this. You are in a better position than me (a relative nonentity) to do it. Or am I being completely & utterly naive
