Women shouldn’t be expected to meet the “same physical standard as men” instead there should be physical standards for what is actually required for the job, and both men and women should be able to meet those standards. What I found in the military is a lot of standards unrelated to the actual job

They treat the male standard as the default because they hope it will exclude women, but that standard was never based on the rigors of the job. If it were then it would be practical tests of can you carry the required gear for the required distance. Instead it is how many pull-ups can you do.
