Yeah, that's just not true, it was 2008, there had already been plenty of studies by that time. The "dubious ingredient" was clearly meant to refer to thimerosal, and making up a story about how a pharmaceutical company CEO wouldn't give the vaccine to his own kid was completely irresponsible.
I think it's completely reasonable that pharmaceuticals would cut corners if they could. The ingredient wasn't thimerosal (to my memory), but rather something fictional. It became a story about pharmaceuticals cutting corners. Again, it was very careful to NOT say vaccines actually cause autism.

It was "mercuritol", but sure, not at all implying anything about thimerosal. Not sure why you're bothering to look up old threads about this show, or why you're bending over backwards to defend it, but you're not going to succeed in persuading me it wasn't incredibly irresponsible.
