I agree with you. I guess my point is that in a future where this becomes science fact, and the Internet being what it is...
I just worry the target of the slur is the wrong target. They are like kids, they didn't ask to exist, and unfortunately have shit parents.
I can appreciate the kindness of this sentiment.
If I believed that what we are told is “AI” was truly Turing-test passing AI think I would feel the same.
And if we reach that point I’ll definitely make a point of talking about this!
I guess actually I should say not passing the Turing test but moreso able to experience humanity and true feeling.
How we actually validate that is a difficult thing…certainly something to think on
