The general term “pedophilia” suggests a fixation on very young children, often boys.
The Epstein girls weren’t as young; they were vulnerable out in public, taking jobs, earning money, ambitious, unsupervised.
I’m going out on a limb here, but I think the use of “pedo” is aimed at introducing the idea of abuse of little boys, for outrage purposes. Like the urban myth of sending your sons to school and getting daughters back at the end of the day. The exploitation of young girls in their teens is accepted.
Probably true. Girls are a dime a dozen.
