idk if i'll play more in the morning, here's my slightly more full thoughts, basically the same as 2xko where it's inconclusive because i'm not familiar with tag fighters and their leaning on splashy casual-friendly mechanics makes being a dumbass sweat extremely frustrating if not impossible
i do think that they do a good job of framing autocombos as a tool for hit-confirming into a launcher or special, at which point things open up a lot - if you so desire. the combo structure in general left me feeling a lot more confident and flashy off the bat and running mix felt nice

if i can actually understand the fucking mechanism and make informed decisions in neutral, in pressure, in combos, in blockstun, then i'm actually tempted to hop on. being unused to tag fighters lets me take this as its own thing in a way that i just can't for strive and that's a big boon
