Until I started listening to the dispatch radio, I didn't realize how many times Halifax Fire was called out to bus terminals to meet up with bus operators who had incidents on board and need someone to talk to. It seems like it's mostly supervisors that do that, but it's almost daily.

I often don't hear about the incidents (the radio dispatch is only for fire, the EMS and HRP dispatch channels are closed), but I find it interesting that it falls on Halifax Fire to do...workplace counseling(?) for other professions.

I was surprised by this too and a little confused as to why it's Halifax Fire and not Halifax Police that are dispatched to bus disturbance calls. Police are probably sent as well I guess and I just don't hear it because their dispatch isn't public?
