Florida’s decision to end school vaccine mandates is devastating for children.

They have no agency. They’re relying on adults to protect them.

Many will end up disabled, chronically ill or dying from completely preventable diseases.

It’s eugenics and it’s targeting the most vulnerable

  1. at this point, if you have a kid who's smart enough to realise this shit will kill them and decide to run away from Florida entirely, one would hope their parents have their back and bankroll a 'holiday' to a jusridiction where the vaccines to keep them safe can be wedged between fun activities.

  2. It will also affect immune-compromised adults who couldn't get vaccinated, who didn't develop immunity via vaccines, who have had chemo or a bone marrow transplant that wiped out their immunity, and more.

Just call it what it is -- eugenics by neglect.

  3. Anyone can end up disabled by a virus, of any age or health status. Yes, kids too. There are no set, predictive rules about this. The only prerequisite is not being protected from infection. People in support groups with post-viral diseases know this.

"THE VULNERABLE" ARE NOT A SEPARATE CATEGORY.

  4. It’s devastating for everyone. For herd immunity it takes 95% to be vaccinated.

  5. Ignorant MAGA yelling it's fine because people can choose to opt in... -Insurance won't be covering them. -You will need a prescription for otherwise over the counter ones, which means you will need a Drs app(as we know takes a while now days) and to pay them for the visit.

  6. It's gonna kill senior citizens who are too fragile for vaccines. Like my 95 year old grandmother. But it's only gonna get worse while everyone swims in raw sewage in the lake streams and ocean that Florida has become famous for.

  7. The scourge Florida is unleashing will easily spread to parents, the elderly, nursing homes, and medically vulnerable people.

  8. Vaccine mandates have been constitutional for over 100 years. For good reason. I told you they'd figure out a way to make the vaccines illegal in FL. This is just another step in that direction. Mask mandates, even in hospitals, are already illegal here.

  9. It's so awful to see this! I'm lucky to be in Oregon but I keep thinking of all my poor disabled friends stuck in red states like Florida. 😥

  10. It's manufacturing a public health crisis. When the hospitals and ICUs are filled with people dying from preventable diseases, they won't be able to accept new patients. Car accident victims just might not get a bed. The child mortality rate will revert to 1600s when every family lost several.

  11. My husband's sister-in-law and her brother got mumps encephalitis before the MMR vaccine and aside from being hospitalized lost all their teeth when the infection settled there.
