The prime minister ought to challenge the most self-interested generation in history to step up for their country — elbows and all — and make a sacrifice.
As a CNO subscriber, a youngish boomer and a person who mostly likes your pieces, I urge you to read all the reaction comments on CNO. A lot of boomers are in precarious financial and/or healthcare situations.
Then they wouldn’t be affected by this proposal. Did they even read the piece?
Like you, I was angry at first but then I read this line:
"That’s enough to lift every senior in Canada out of poverty, shrink the federal deficit, and create a new funding stream for..."
So it would help those of us seniors who in deep poverty and struggling to survive.
Did you even read the article??? The proposal is to ask wealthy retirees to accept lower OAS payments. This one change would save so much money that Canada could totally eliminate seniors' poverty and help fund more healthcare.
