Trump's war on the American people (and the Free World) is already in-progress and has been since c.2010. He now has the tools at his disposal (DoJ, DoD, DHS, FBI, GOP congressional majorities) to make that war much more damaging than just his hateful rhetoric.
I can tell you a majority of firearm owners do not think of them in any political sense. most are responsible law-abiding citizens who use them for both recreation and hunting. There are extremes and all things and I understand there are a lot of gun enthusiasts that push political narratives.
