This is the only place in the world that this kind of thing happens over and over and over again, and not coincidentally, we have some of the most lenient gun regulations in the world. It's simple--you either care about a gun fetish or you care about the nation's kids. You can't have both.
Honestly you can have both. It’s called educating the kids about how to hand firearms. For example in 1989 I had to go through a week long class that lasted 4 hours a day to be allowed to hunt. Today that same class is only one 4 hour class.
