I've always been up front about how much luck has played a role in my life. Yes, I work hard and am talented, as are so many other people who didn't have the lightning strike of luck. And luck begets opportunity (and more chances to be lucky). The very least I can do is acknowledge those facts.
My mind keeps coming back to this "luck." It isn't just luck, it is a lot of hard work, of paying attention, education, not settling for less, of having a goal, a desire. I got tired of people telling me how lucky I am. No. It isn't luck. It's work. It's taking ownership of oneself. OK off soapbox

Baloney - a million people out there worked as hard, didn't settle, had a goal, desire and all those LinkedIn cliches but they didn't succeed. Born at the wrong time (seen today's job market for graduates) or in the wrong country or the wrong parents, had one gene go bad, etc. Luck.
