Gina Carano and Disney have settled their legal dispute

Disney is now looking forward 'to identifying opportunities to work together with Ms. Carano in the near future'

  1. Full statement:

“The Walt Disney Company and Lucasfilm are pleased to announce that we have reached an agreement with Gina Carano to resolve the issues in her pending lawsuit against the companies"

  2. I assume this'll be a Cat in the Hat scenario where they pick the worst possible script ever for her to do as a lawsuit payout and as a pseudo punishment move for sucking.

  3. Literally nobody who is pleased by this announcement is the type of person who is going to show up to watch anything Disney Star Wars anyways, they're the ones who are still foaming at the mouth about episode 8 and the acolyte.

  4. An agreement is not a settlement. Reading between the lines - no apology or admission of an error by Disney. Disney aren't changing their employment policies so unless Carano changes her act then the bit about "identifying opportunities" is as hollow as her cache of acting talent...

  5. WHY?! Why do so many of these companies capitulate when they don’t need to?! She decided to be a bigot in public and got fired. Her lawsuit had no leg to stand on and Disney is a Billion dollar company. Man, if they don’t tell that woman kick rocks and move on.

  6. Yes, I’m sure Disney, who had oversaturated the market with expensive Star Wars shows that didn’t get huge ratings or acclaim are now eager to work with the woman who was cast solely for her athletic ability despite being a terrible actor especially now that she is older and more out of shape.

  7. I hope Disney realizes that if I ever see this Nazi Fascist on any show I watch, I am cancelling Disney+ and Hulu. Fuck any company that bows down to fascists for their god, profit.

  9. This was a huge mistake. Disney has to grow a pair and realize this is not a time to cower to right-wing interests. Disney lost out in the settlement with Carano and I will organize boycotts of her productions as well, so even if its just my money, they will lose out more. Stupid, stupid decision.

  10. It would have been a lot cheaper to settle with something with comparable acting ability. Like, oh, a wooden mannequin. Watching her try to scrunch her face into an actual human emotion was excruciating.

  11. Well, lets make sure the productions she is in tank on an epic level.

Give Disney an financial reason to kick her to the curb.

  12. So much for those insane Disney lawyers I kept hearing about, they're a pathetic org that will settle with anyone that sues them.

  13. lol ok, try putting her on a set with Pedro Pascal again, see how well that’ll turn out lmao

he’s literally the general public’s most well known trans ally right now bc of his relationship with his sister, and he’s very vocal about it

  14. Right wingers love to whine about how they are treated they turn around and toss someone’s grandma into a black site in El Salvador and say it’s for their ‘security’

Fuck this asshole and her support base :)

  16. All of these fuck your feelings types when pressed are always the first to cry about being treated unfairly then sue to be let back into places no one wanted them.

  17. Clown city. Right wing goons think they should have immunity from consequences while sabotaging their workplaces.

They and Disney should get stuffed.

  18. One of the many reasons why it is never too late to drop all the MCU and Star Wars slop that Disney regurgitates.

  19. I don't know the first thing about her, but saw " Haywire" last week. I kept asking myself, with all the incredible actresses available, who chose her? Her acting is cringe-worthy.

For sheer physicality, check out " Atomic Blonde" with Charlize Theron. AND, she can act.

  20. What people have to ask themselves is what was Disney trying to hide by avoiding discovery. Whatever would of come out publicly from discovery was so bad Disney was willing to settle and apologize.

  21. I'm sure there are some bathrooms that need cleaning at one of the theme parks. Does it have to be a specific type of opportunity?

  22. Hate was part of my old twitter life. I'm happy for her. And I did miss her character in season 3 of Mando.

  23. See the dumb smirk on her face in the thumbnail? Yeah. She had that smirk in every scene she was in. Before I knew she was a terrible person, I knew she was a terrible actress. The episodes she was in were painful.

  24. Ugh her acting and stunt work looks absolutely wooden. I wasn’t familiar with her and I really thought it must be nepotism because she didn’t have “it”
