I am against gerrymandering, but I am also against unilateral disarmament. Gavin Newsomโ€™s plan to redistrict in California, to get more seats in 2026, and stop Trump in his tracks, should be replicated by Democratic Governors across the country. We need to actually fight here.

  1. Agreed. There's the added fact that in general many Red States like Texas are already heavily gerrymandered while gerrymandering in Blue States tends to be much less severe or not exist at all due to Democrats constant attempt to be fair, play by the rules, reach across the aisle.

  2. I'm with you, David. Trump and his lackies will do anything and everything to seize control of our country. No more Mr. Nice Guy. Gloves are off. I like Newsom's righteous anger and "can do" attitude.

  3. Reapportionment is a necessity. There are a multitude of folks in seats that are clearly overwhelmed by the sizes and challenges of their districts to the extent that they don't hold town halls or support their constituents' basic needs. This is a public service.

  4. If this ultimately leads to a forced neutral district system I'm fine with it, but i guarantee there will be screaming about how unfair it all is in the meantime.

  5. We need the Newsom level trolling. See his tweets. It is hilarious and I know it will hit hard on the orange pedo. I can count three on our side. Newsom, Crockett and AOC. No other Dem seem to have a spine

  6. If redistricting were to fully play through both parties who would end up ahead nationally - Red or Blue? I heard it would be Red. If so, the Blues are in a damage-limitation exercise only playing this game.

Blues need to be strong on a holistic solution to Gerrymandering when they regain power.

  7. I don't like gerrymandering either. I'm an unaffiliated voter. I think the 2 party system failed. Trump and his allies have recognized that, and now are trying to get his sphere bigger and permanent. In short, we have to do whatever needed to win. At all cost.

  8. MAGA wants to change the US into a white etnostate, the gloves must come off. They bring nuclear weapons to the table, we have to stop bringing feathers. "I've had it."

  9. Yes but what keeps it from being a runaway mess that yields an unwieldy amount of congress critters(worse than now) that canโ€™t pass any legislation. Not saying I donโ€™t agree with the strategy. Just concerned.

  10. Sometimes you have to get in the mud and get your hands dirty if you want to fix an issue. I support defending the Constitution against enemies foreign AND DOMESTIC

  11. I agree 100% but the vast majority of our Democratic representatives are spineless pussys and wonโ€™t stand up against the vile Republican Party

  12. Agree. When someone pulls a gun on you, that is not the time to preach gun control. And Texas has pulled out its gerrymandering gun.

  13. YES, Please fight back, the republicans have throw out the law and the constitution so STOP trying to play by the rules, they no longer exist and if you do, you will loose.

  14. Absolutely David. Unfortunately we have to adjust our lives and family life to prepare and fight while trying to put food on the table damn you trump.

  15. When they go low, we stomp from high. I hate this whole thing but I dont see a viable alternative.

    We have to clap back

  16. Dems can no longer โ€˜keep playing by the rulesโ€™. Dems being honorable & respecting tradition is consistently working in MAGAs favor! Dems cannot keep fighting with one arm tied behind their backs.

  17. I'd like to see an interstate compact, where red and blue states are paired up. Each partner agrees not to gerrymander if the other does not. Balance of power/mutually assured destruction.

  18. Blue states should gerrymander the fuck out of every blue state just to catch up to what theyโ€™ve done in the red ones. Iโ€™m sick of redneck, racist, stupid fucks having an outsized say in what happens in this country.

  19. Congressional Republicans have abdicated their responsibilities to be a coequal branch and check against executive overreach. Moves like this just codify their desire to sit on their hands. We need people in Congress that want to work for the people, not the president.

  20. Yes, we need to change the way we fight back. The rules have all changed now, so we should change how we engage!

  21. Dems are to high and mighty and in their high horse to actually fight fire with fire. They rather send a "strong" worded letter then fight. Time to kick ass and level the plain field. GOP doesn't find it illegal to gerrymander then it means legal for the Dems to do it.

  22. We have to fight fire with smarter fire, and once the idiots in the maga party are gone and being held accountable, we can get back to normal. But dems need to follow Newsomes lead on this and how he is responding until then.

  23. A mid-decade census by Trump to pick up Rep seats is a WAR on We the People > #VotingRights

His abhorrent LIES about the need for a mid-decade census are BS considering the 2020 Census was done on HIS #watch

This is a #CheatToWinScam as Reps are poised to #Lose the 2026 midterm election.

  24. I am against gerrymandering too, however if they're gonna change the rules of the game, we have to play by the new changed rules or else we lose everytime. It just wouldn't make sense to keep trying to follow old rules that don't matter or take you anywhere anymore. If they go low, I saw we go lower

  25. Everyone asks, how do we fight this? THIS is how you fight this. Democratic morals have prevented us from using the LEGAL tools the GOP created bec it was against what we stood for. But they created them knowing weโ€™d never use them. If we start using them against them, they might reconsider them!

  26. Calling foul is no longer a game play. To fight Trump and the maga cult. Your gonna need to fight with new rules that may change to stay ahead.
