I did it 2 weeks ago. My station, KPTS (Wichita) now depends on 98% of funding from community support. Shame on Jerry Moran and Roger Marshall.
Maybe it's better to pick one far from you. I have a feeling KQED is going to ride out Trump, but I worry more about public TV and radio in red states and rural areas.
I donated to my local PBS station and Sesame Street. As a child who grew up with Sesame Street and now an educator, they continue to remain an important source for learning. Please also consider donating to sesameworksop.org
Or if yours is a big well-funded station, consider a donation to a smaller station that might really go under without Fed support.
I'm already a PBS Passport holder but I did a random donation, sans gift, last night. KQED, isn't just a TV ststion. It's part of the SF Bay Area community. Be a shame to lose that.
We do-sustaining
If you work at a company, talk to the CEOβs office to see if they will do a company-wide program matching employee donations to PBS & NPR stations.
That would double your contribution.
Give it a try, you might become a hero (heroine) at the company for suggesting it.
All time favorite station!
Is it too late???
Help preserve independent journalism and community programming across America by adopting a public media station. Congress has voted to rescind public media's funding.
Done already
They had R U S H In Concert Tonight...very cool.
Already done.
I Give our local Denver PBS a donation each month.
Another American Institution Destroyed F*ck Trump
I cancelled my Peacock streaming service and gave to PBS instead.
You can also donate to a station in another area, if yours is in good shape:

KOAB. Portland, OR. Been donating as a sustaining member for years. Just upped my contribution.
I dumped Paramount+. Now Cascade PBS gets that money.
I became a sustaining member today with a monthly pledge so they can count on that income. Please join me by supporting your local station. Just go to their website whether they are asking or not.
NPR as well
My earliest memory of PBS was watching Sesame Street and The Electric Company ("Hey you guys!"). Looking back, I realize at every age and every stage, there was something on PBS for me to love and learn from. I am a proud sustaining member and encourage others to contribute, too.
