Good summary. I'm bothered by Cole Hanson's "voters aren't telling me zoning is a priority" answer.
Part of leadership is knowing that it's your job to make the connections between issues that the average voter won't (because it isn't their job).
To know how to advance constituents' interests.
Bad leaders respond only to constituents' stated preferences (as opposed to grasping interests and knowing how to serve those interests effectively).
Even worse leaders pander to stated preferences in ways that are opportunistic and inconsistent.
Obviously, urbanism is my thing so ofc I think zoning is important, and it's fine that others are going to have other priorities.
But Molly is clearly the candidate in this race who gets how land use is crucial to long-term quality of life and to the city's solvency, and that's decisive for me.
