When I was studying Radio, TV & Motion Pictures and then Journalism at Ball State, the FCC rule limited ownership of an individual to 7 newspapers, 7 TV stations and 7 radio stations - in 21 markets.

The myth of the liberal media, spread by disingenuous conservatives, has been a myth for decades. The media generally just reports the truth and the conservatives can't allow that. There are exceptions and the foundations are getting a little shaky, but it's still the safe bet.

During my 80-year lifespan, most newspapers have been editorially conservative. Liberal papers were always rare. The NY Times was once considered a bastion of conservativism. The "left-wing" media line is a made-up talking point because a few outlets dared to question GOP dogma.
