What’s wild to me is that it’s not a horror comedy, but it is a horror movie that is consistently funny.

The ending (and similarly with The Substance last year) is one of the great "you have to watch this with a full theatre audience" moments.

Zach Cregger understands that the scariest thing is an ominous open doorway where you can see nothing but darkness beyond. And that the most satisfying horror movie ending involves seeing someone the audience hates getting brutally murdered.
