Just like the Nazis and every genocidal regime since, they frame their actions as self defense. By manufacturing the threat of trans people and pushing that narrative, it excuses them in their minds from the violence they perpetrate against our community.

I think everyone is so densisitized to everything right now but this is legitimately one of the most frightening times I've had in my life. I'm terrified for my community. I'm scared these bastards will whip up more violence against our community while they weaponize government to persecute us more.

I don't mean this in a doomer way. But it's not a question. Thrh are actively doing it and no one is pushing back. It will get worse before it gets better.
But I do believe on a long enough timeline we win.

Meanwhile I'm sat here lamenting the fact that I don't seem capable of being desensitized at all, and can't figure out how to mentally cope with the emotional weight of watching this play out with people I love and cherish. It's terrifying, and I see no end in sight for it.
