Life on a Monday in August may seem normal enough. And yet the reality is "We have a consolidating dictatorship in our country." I so appreicate @maddow.msnbc.com describing the simple reality clearly. It does us no good to pretend it's not real. The only question is what we do about it.

  1. What we do is mobilize the Indivisible community across the country and keep organizing. I’m looking forward to the CA Indivisible Convening in a few weeks.

  2. Don’t wait for someone to tell you what to do!

Pick one issue you care about. What are your skills?

Direct those skills with all your heart at that issue. Volunteer. Donate. Organize locally.

And everyone can boycott. Protest when you can.

All skills are needed. All hands on deck now!

There is nothing normal since January 20, 2025 @12:00pm. Sinclair Lewis wrote β€˜It Can’t Happen Here.’ George Orwell wrote β€˜1984.’ Franz Kafka wrote β€˜The Trial.’ And Timothy Snyder wrote β€˜On Tyranny.’ Authoritarianism is here in its rawist form. We must stop it. For ourselves and our children.

  4. Dear Everyone - What if they dismantled & ended the NFL & NBA & NHL & closed ALL local foodstores & shut down internet access. THAT'S HOW MAD WE SHOULD ALL BE. They are taking away our rights and freedoms NOW, while raiding the Treasury for our tax $$ to pay for it all while enriching themselves.

  5. I also would like to see indivisible groups, esp in GA, NC, Fl, ebciruage that their members to register to vote or check their registration. Voter rolls being purged in GA and NC as we speak, probably more states but quietly. There should be a link in Indivisible site to check registration.

    Check Voter Registration

  6. There are elections every week almost. Some small, some bigger. But participation is not at the level needed for what is going on in this country. Voting is a form of Protest. We need to link them better.

  7. The push back is happening and many people realize we are seeing our democracy slip away. I think multiple actions can be more co-ordained. Can Indivisible suggest their local chapters have links in their mobilize events of the next local election? Protest and voting have to go together.

  8. I think we need more explanation to the describing the difference between title 32 National Guard and title 10 military. I would like more information, does this mean he has called up the National Guard to police demonstration and marches?

  9. One thing we could be doing is encouraging red district waking up to demand their reps resign or switch parties - even to indy w/caucus to dem - to get control back over to dems asap, we don't have time for midterms. They can negotiate w/dems to not do certain things / do others in exchange.

  10. Wish all on MSNBC would encourage the same reality. Just turned it off when frequent afternoon guest John Kasich was normalizing GOP/Trump party behavior.

  11. Was hoping @indivisible.org would be organizing another rally. I feel like the one million and rising is kind of what we already were doing under indivisible? Without any leaders stepping up I feel like the country is relying on you. πŸ™

  12. And these two posts are what I see back to back. Yes for sure we’re heading towards a full on fascist dictatorship. And what we need now is a @generalstrikeus.bsky.social and or other mass protests to tell them we won’t go quietly into this and we’re going to push back.

Snapshot of two posts in BlueSky. One that says DOJ taps grand jury to re-investigate 2016 Trump-Russia probe and the other one Ezra Levin quotes Rachel Maddow where she spoke to the reality of the US having a consolidating dictatorship in our country. Most importantly Ezra asks us what we will do about this reality. My answer is GENERAL STRIKE and or other forms of mass protest.

  13. It was such an important thing to say. TV and movies have taught us that this kind of shift in government, come with some kind of societal collapse, so we know it happened. Nope! Our lives are all still going on, much as they were. That's why so many people are just thinking "well it's not so bad."

  14. We are no longer fighting to save democracy. We are fighting to get it back! I’ll never get over how people could vote for this. NEVER!

  16. Something about hearing her lay it out so clearly, no pussy-footing around, hit me hard. I already knew we're "there" but her A block made me cry.

  17. I wake up every day with anxiety bc of the criminal enterprise, the American President, and his court jesters. Racism is a disease on America's well being.
