Looking forward to it. Had the same concerns but found a couple of good dealers that will give you a 12-month guarantee. Even my D850 is used - and works just great.
That 12-month guarantee is pretty good reassurance, especially with the prices of lenses and cameras. I want to upgrade to the Z8 eventually, but I'm not in a rush. I currently use a D500 and a zfc, and they both work just fine.

The D500 is a pretty good piece of equipment. I suggest you wait until you find a good deal on the z8. 😉
