i honestly wonder if we'd be better off if biden lost. trump's 2016-2020 run was far more disorganized than after he had 4 years off. and then we'd be done with him

Yes. It gave Trump grievances to rage about while also leaving him unchained by the weak and failed attempts to reign him in. It gave rival factions in the US oligarchy the time to plan a proper power grab. Biden made conditions worse in ways Trump couldn't, paving the way for faster unraveling.
