There ARE changes that could help. That is true. But I do not agree that the entire system is garbage. Teachers who care about their subjects & students make a difference. We waste $ on administration & chasing the "next big thing". Empowering teachers & creating partnerships with parents works.

The illiteracy rate in the US is beyond the norm. Tell me how I'm wrong. Trump can't read, prove we wrong. That's not a positive for education.
