Trump's new tariffs on #India are a good start.
India is a major importer of Russian crude which its refineries reship to G7 countries.
But India should be offered carrots, too: its economy needs energy, so the US as a partner should work to offer alternatives to #Russia. /1
The idiot still does not understand that India will not pay the 50% tax, we will. Look at the deal India has with Russia, sweeten it, can take It away from Russia, but don't tax US Citizens 50% on items we buy from India, that's just more dumb from the worlds biggest dummy.
The tax on imports means US purchasers will buy less of many Indian products than they would have otherwise.
I don’t love tariffs, but coupled with sweeteners, they could help to move the dial. It’s high cost to the US too, as you point out, but not meaningless.
