This. To add to that, the "fuck you mom" side is made up of just as many groups as the other side, everything from radical libertarians to Christian nationalists to hyper capitalists.
Only one side can put aside their difference enough to organize and it's not the side you want it to be.
As someone with clear memories of 2004, this is such a weird reversal to me. The whole George Lakoff "framing" conversation back then characterized democrats as the "nurturing mother" party, while voters, they said, wanted the "strict father" GOP.
Now it's democrats as nagging mom vs. cool dad GOP.
