I have often bemoaned the dryness of many modern games. Somebody on the web wrote "boardgames are just math made fun", and I answered that many boardgames are math made not fun. In such games, scores are no longer a reward for good play, but the entire games just consist of calculations. (1/X)

  1. I do not consider them playful, and I often get bored by them quickly. I acknowledge there is a large target group for this kind of occupation, but I avoid those games unless I am in very good company.
