Infrastructure we mostly don’t have is my guess. A whopping 5K kids in the early days alone & how would other state systems serve them? They couldn’t. I blame moderate Dems currently in power and voters blame all Dems then vote red. We can do better as a party.

Why don't the states that want universal health care simply work together to provide it in their states? Something like Medicare for all could be done in NY, VT, CA, WA, OR, NM, MA, and so on.
Others could join later. Over time, it could evolve into a national program, if it works well.
