I don’t care if people dislike Meghan Markle; I don’t know her and am not protecting her.
My issue is how incredibly angry they get about her, practically frothing at the mouth.
Everything she says and does (which is usually quite bland and safe), they act as if she’s just insulted their child.
She seems like an exceedingly normal person, even given her circumstances. I have sat at a table full of people griping about her as though anything she does has any bearing on them. It was bonkers, especially after I pushed back on the undercurrent of misogynoir. Told me a lot about these people.
