RIP such a tragic story

Martyrs. Especially Chaney. What they did to him was unspeakable, and yet typical of lynchings.

Hard to “like”

We must never forget. The KKK members who murdered these young men were identified but never held accountable. The KKK murderers included the sheriff.

My pal @pooyasky.bsky.social does not have one Jewish bone in his body, but each time I see a picture of Andrew Goodman, I reminded of him and vice-versa.
Either way, James Chaney, Andrew Goodman and Michael Schwerner were killed because America has and had a problem with racism and antisemitism.

I know who you are. I'm sorry that you suffered. Your memory is a blessing. 🕯🕯🕯

Should’ve shown this to the young Black girl who was saying Jews only cared about Civil Rights because they cared about their own rights & not Black folks.

Forever tragic.

The NY Times devoted several pages to Freedom Summer on the most recent anniversary, and not once did they mention that two of the three men were Jewish. Shameful.

"And while they are often remembered for how they died, we honor them today for how they lived -– with the idealism and the courage of youth… And here today, inspired by their sacrifice, we continue to fight for the ideals of equality and justice for which they gave their lives."
