Voting for a Dem, especially at the national level, is rewarding them by helping them get an extremely easy job that ensures they will be fabulously wealthy and comfortable for the rest of their lives, as will probably the next 3 or 4 generations of their family. The least they can do is earn votes.
Sure but that's secondary to how the only two outcomes are "a Republican holds the office" and "a Democrat holds the office", and that we suffer a lot more for Democrats losing than they do.
