Sort of, although the amount consumed for both has risen enormously so comparisons are tough. But while their share of spending has increased, we are simultaneously consuming more housing, more health care, and more consumer good than ever before. Where is the crisis??
The HAVE'S are consuming. The HAVE NOTS are struggling. It's not that it's a fake crisis, it's that it's only a crisis for a segment of our community. Go visit a food bank and tell me again how there is no crisis.
