And talked about mental illness given it was in the shadows

I have to disagree, Norbit is one of the worst movies Iโve ever seen. But to each their own. RIP Brian ๐ญ
-
Fuck, how is THIS the way I found out.
I mean, any interview with him in the past 35 years would have been similar, but still...
-
I mean thereโs a reason it was nominated for an Academy Award.
-
How YOU doinโ!
-
This hurts. Iโve loved The Beach Boys since I came into this world.
-
This is the post where I learned he had passed. What a legend! My thoughts are with Eddie Murphy today. ๐
-
I cried when lady norbit came out of the norbit house with a weird potato thing and asked, "norbit, what's this?"
-
I loved "Long Promised Road".

He was a gentle sweet man. He was abused and yet he made beautiful music.
-
Pet Sounds. Listening now.
-
Could you link the full interview? Now I gotta read the rest of it
-
Brian Wilson has watched exactly one movie ever. Norbit.
-
The end of "God only knows" is magic for my ears every time I hear it
-
RIP Surf Bro! Now I have to watch Norbit in his honorโฆ

Truly an inspired talent whose music brought joy ๐คฉ to millions
-
Playing Pet Sounds...
-
iirc, Norbit is one of the truly dreadful movies that that Murphy made, so not sure if this is a joke or serious
-
Brian Wilson and the Beach Boys songs were the soundtrack of my early teens. They sang of teenage fun and teenage angst. They made me realize I wasn't alone. Rest in peace Brianโค๏ธ
-
Taste in music doesn't necessarily apply to movies.
-
Really? THAT movie? Of all movies that have projected in his lifetime, THAT one?

Guy who's only ever seen Norbit: Getting some big Norbit vibes from this
-
That is the Pet Sounds of interview responses.

-
I was under the impression that The Beach Boys went MAGA, but if thatโs incorrect, Iโd like to be educated.
-
the man knew what he liked
-
Joni Ernst rejoices.
-
Loved his music
-
Gotta say, I was not expecting that. ๐
-
Norbit was fucking hilarious. I spend every thanksgiving now talking about turkey ass. Lol
-
One and only Norbit
My favorite song... "Good Vibrations"
-
The man had taste
-
But a huge thumbs down to Al Jardine who agreed to speak with a bunch of top radio stations this morning, but then decided at 10:15 last night that he was too exhausted. #Blacklisted
-
This news made me feel so sad.
-
I know he was said to have schizoaffective disorder but I suspect he may have also been on the spectrum.
-
In his autobiography he talks about his obsession with "Shortnin' Bread" which he considered "the best song ever written".
Apparently he got Iggy Pop and Alice Cooper to sing it with him at his home one night, over-and-over, until Iggy lost it and had to leave.

Like the interview answers, but not a fan of the albums.

John, Paul, George and Ringo were known to give "good interview" too.๐๐

Just perfection.

Was privileged enough to interview him (ask one question lol) once upon a time at the Grammy Awards. Iโm sure I still have the tape somewhere. May he rest, and may his music and memory be a blessing to his loved ones and fans always.

Thatโs as beautiful as Pet Sounds.
-
Don't Worry Baby is an early Brian Wilson masterpiece. I've kept that song close to me for 47 years.
-
That movie is hilarious. Directed by Brian Robbins.
-
that's why someone was talking about the beach boys
mozart beethoven bach joplin are waiting for him to tell him how awesome he is
-
Peasant brain mindset (complimentary)
-
and you gave it your worst possible review, two stars, you said
-
A music legend. He will be missed no doubt. Looks like itโs going to be a beach boy playlist playing the next couple days.
-
That movie was a hot mess lolol
-
According to one account, Brian Wilson saw the movie Seconds while tripping on LSD (& there's a Mr. Wilson character in the movie) & he became too traumatized to see many movies ever since. Next movie he saw after seeing Seconds in '66 or '67 was E.T. in 1982.
-
Another great gone. RIP Brian Wilson.
-
He put all his sense of taste into music
-

-
dude- you made me laugh- and I don't laugh- that's why I'm funny...
-
Brick, are you just looking at things in the office and saying you love them
-
He was so childlike and truly that was a big part of his brilliance.
-
Imagine getting to interview the greatest songwriter alive and having the balls to go for the lowest common denominator question in the history of small talk ๐ค
-
RIP
