We were the Gateway to Europe when a full EU member. Industries set up here and did well. Then we left the EU, and industries, notably from Japan, started leaving, redundancies in their wake. Finance lost its shine. Saw money leaving for NYC, Paris, Amsterdam and Frankfurt + staff relocations.
I know. It happened very fast. It happened immediately in the banking and university sectors. We all met a lot of people on those many EU marches and they had powerful stories to tell about what had happened in their sectors and the huge, incalculable damage that was done to their lives/families.
