The media would do well to interrogate the basis for the exercise of emergency powers rather than “residents say crime really is bad” stories.

Oh - to get out all the horrendous criminals. Of which they have yet to deport any. Too much work hunting them down and getting judicial warrants. At $2500 a head, they find it easier just to snatch them off the street for how they "look".
