Tylenol/autism stuff is bad for many reasons, but it will be used to push the idea that pregnant people shouldn't have pain relief. Women's pain is already dismissed.

Neurodiversity is a biological certainty--the neurological form of biodiversity--which is fundamental to our continued existence. People having differing biological experiences of life & communicating their perspectives in an endlessly vast number of ways are vital to our species & planet's survival

Very good point. His nonsense will harm women. No surprise there. He’s so full of BS. No scientific knowledge, a corrupt, amoral idiot with a famous name.

Patients at a fertility clinic experience excruciating, unexpected pain. For months the reason for that pain remains hidden. Then they get a letter from the clinic.

Also for my first phrase for those finding this getting traction post and don't know my views: there's nothing wrong with being autistic.

A nurse woke me up after my hip replacement in 2008 to say the crowds cheering in the streets were so excited Obama had won. I remember zero pain. But that was before opioid madness scared docs into not prescribing. (& you heal fastest when you aren't hurting.)

Not to mention it can be dangerous if a pregnant woman has a fever and is afraid to treat it.

It’s also going to be used to push the idea that pregnant people are endangering the fetus (and therefore selfish bad people) any time they take any medication.

Hysterical republicans are okay w pregnant women getting vaxxed, but not okay with Tylenol.

Also places the “fault”* solely on the mother- we’re mere inches away from being right back to using the phrase “refrigerator mothers”
*this presupposes one thinks autism is a shortcoming, which to be clear I do not

It's just so ridiculous. I want to scream.
Acetaminophen did not become widely used until 1950s. Autism was first named 1910s but obviously existed before then.
Medical and Indigenous historians, as well as epidemiologists, can squash this to dust.
But facts don't matter anymore.

That was essentially the attitude I got because I’ve got the genetic quirk of not responding to Tylenol. Telling me “take Tylenol and you can’t have anything else” is telling me “suck it up, we won’t help you.”

This is just another version of “blame the mother“.
