Do pets treat you different after a surgery and being warded?
I suspect I smelled WAY different, and that's why Lil Guy acted like I was a complete stranger for a week. He was shy and even a little hostile to me 💔 Last night he finally opened up, being all affectionate like his old self again 😭
My old dog straight up ran in fear from my father once he returned home from his cancer surgery and 2-week hospital stay and refused to hang around him much. And yet, once father was gone, Tofik quickly deteriorated and was gone too just 2 weeks later. It's been years but kind of stuck to my mind.
usually with me it's a case of "my clothes still smell like me but i've been gone for weeks so results may vary"
Not surgery in my case but my dog becomes avoidant if I get sick, specifically if it's a cough or laryngitis.
Yes. Cats especially rely on smell to identify their group.
