I just saw a NPR headline today on Bluesky saying that the number one cause of death among children was drowning. The story was about shit for brains cutting funding to CDC (I think) for programs that helped to prevent drownings.

As an outsider i find it disturbing that nothing is done about it. I've read your Second Amendment. You have a well regulated militia in the National Guard. WTF do civilians need semi-automatic rifles for exactly? And why in the f/k are these weapons just allowed to be kept out in the open!? Insane!
