Perception is rising numbers likely key here. @ipsosintheuk.bsky.social polling shows two thirds think small boat crossings increasing - almost half say increasing a lot.
And Starmer’s record on this heavily criticised.
42% think his govt is doing a worse job on immigration than the previous Conservative govt. 23% say it is doing a better job.
Trend is moving in the wrong direction for Labour
This sums up how the media misinform/whip up the public, net migration has fallen 60% in the past 18 months yet the majority thinks its increasing.
I suspect if we halved it again, 25% of ppl would still claim the above tbh, as it's not really about numbers, it's about seeing brown & black faces.
