  1. Impoundment & rescissions are not constitutional. Mentioned nowhere in the Constitution. There's no law that governs them & they've rarely been used. Now Donald is making it a central lever of his rule. youtu.be/jAcj_XSHJYc

  2. "Lawmakers have been waiting all year for the Supreme Court to save them"

Bullshit, Politico. DEMOCRATS have been waiting all year. This GOP congress is an integral PART of this fascist regime, and could have stopped ALL of this, at ANY time.

Don't try and paint them as the poor victims here.

  4. They’ve been afraid to go on record voting to give the President what he wants when they know it’s something their voters don’t want, so they’ve been more than willing to abdicate their responsibilities

  5. Given what we have seen at GOP town halls…….GOP needs to worry about voters more than Trump

  6. The Trump Court was hired because they believe in a strong Presidency. This pretty much disqualified them as SCOTUS justices. We are supposed to be a country of checks and balances.

  7. Fucking cowards that don’t represent their people. Every one of their constituents should be calling every day railing their representatives but they won’t. It was their votes that put us here and they’re too proud. They’re scum.

  8. They definitely should be replaced We need stronger people in Congress not opportunists& grift finders etc. Partly why term limits are so very important, people get complacent and only want to work for themselves.. Or care about themselves.. lose sight of their job requirements, objectives & morals

  9. Quietly hopeful: that’s not how you preserve the republic and fight off an unconstitutional insurrectionist from wrecking your country

  10. Republicans have done this since Mitch decided not to impeach. They want to have their cake and eat it too: leave it to courts to reign him in without taking the political hit for doing it themselves.

  11. I hope this country remembers the cowardice of republican lawmakers. We can’t forget this and we can’t forgive it.

  12. It's my strong belief that SCOTUS intends to kick these cans down the road until it is too late, rather than hold obvious and deliberate illegality to account. It's equally clear that if this was a Democratic President they would have ruled long ago.

  13. Disappointing article; you only discuss the power (and lack of action) that Republican lawmakers have at the very end of the article, while the headline, first few paragraphs, and even this post frame it as lawmakers writ large who are sitting on their hands. More discussion of GOP agency needed.
