  1. Labour listens to lobbyists because they pay well. They stopped listening to the public after they won the election because the Tories were so shit not because they were any good. Now they are proving it every week.

  2. Misled because Starmer is governed by his fears of upsetting corporations and shareholders. Thus he misrepresents the public that put him into office. Such a disappointing PM.

  3. I love the attitude in this country.

Banks? Can't be allowed to fail, so everytime they get greedy and mess up it is the taxpayer who bails them out.

Water companies? Too expensive to nationalise when they're all effectively bankrupt and fleecing the public to pay their debts.

  4. Why are you not leading Labour. Get @garyseconomics.bsky.social doing your numbers and Britain might actually become Great Britain again. I hope your actual empathy for the public catches on before you are, for whatever reason, in a position where Labour is no longer where you would want to stay.

  5. But it's not just a simple "take it back into public ownership" is it? After that it would require humungous amounts of money to deal with all the problems, new treatment works, new sewers etc etc etc...with higher water rates.

  6. 2/4 Water companies funded flawed research to oppose nationalisation.

A government department repeated those claims. Ministers then used them to reject public ownership.

Ofwat ran their own review when challenged but stuck to the same flawed method.
