I heard the former president of a neighbourhood association in Austin say in public “We’re going to build a wall down Lamar and make Highland pay for it.” Lamar blvd. had been the official segregation line in Austin and Highland was the neighbourhood on the other side of it.
I'm not sure if there is more than one definition of NIMBY, but it does seem to me that plenty of left-leaning people are ferociously NIMBY when it comes to, say, housing development in the neighborhoods in which they live.
Poss that some are bigots, too, but I doubt they're all full MAGA.
