When I get asked that question as a millenial, I always say it's because a lot of my generation are useless cognitively impaired persons that absolutely misunderstood the film version of "Starship Troopers".

I mean, we had a discussion over the videogame "Helldivers 2", if people (correctly) identifying the fascitsic humans in an almost 30 year old movie as "The Baddies" were "race traitors" for siding with a fictional insectoid society.
