  1. How would our incredibly deserving elected officials become multimillionaires without being able to take these wonderful legal bribes?

  2. Citizen's United is the most egregious, anti-democratic court decision ever handed down. Until they handed Trump immunity.

  3. Here's another idea: make them sponsor all parties equally. If you don't like it, don't contribute to any party.

  6. See: Proposed 28th Amendment (Campaign Finance Reform Amendment).

Can’t link to a definitive version because everyone has their own ideas, but they can include 1) abolish the EC, 2) overturn Citizens United, 3) define Executive Branch powers, and other ideas to remove the abuses shredding us now.

  7. In my country every political party gets funding based on how many representatives it gets in national and local elections. Total donations for the entire country from individuals, the labour unions and the chamber of commers totals out at around $500,000.

From our parliament, tens of millions.

  11. Welcome to Canada - Businesses (or any organized groups) aren't allowed to donate and there's a cap of $1,725 that can be donated to a party and to any individual candidate. Very hard to buy influence with those numbers.

  12. Here’s an idea, personal donations only, and up to a maximum of $2000 per tax year, and must be registered to vote. Additional to that, strict guidelines on campaigning to ensure it is restricted to a 6mth period prior to the election. Plus, fines for not attending committee meetings.

  15. He probably had a moral supreme court in his day. Now we have a corrupt congress, court and white house. They are determined to rob from the poor so they can give to the rich.
