  4. You can care all you want but if you don't learn how to channel that care into action you're going to destroy yourself. Give people outlets to express how much they care, i.e. advocacy groups for them to join, boycotts, etc. Caring without an outlet leads to extreme spiraling depression.

  9. Yes indeed. I started a radical environmental group in 1990 called The Lorax Society. I put out a couple newsletter then got shut down by a cease-and-desist from Random House.

    Maybe it's time to reanimate it.

  10. True, but what can I do? Get an automatic weapon and take out as many autocrats as I can before being killed myself? Unlikely to change anything, and I wouldn't even have the satisfaction of knowing if it helped.

  11. I disagree. No amount of caring that I've done is solving anything of consequence. We need regulation, laws, a working government - something (because we don't have superheroes) that can keep the largest abusers in line. Without that, caring doesn't do squat.

  12. I call bullshit. I've cared my entire life. In 1973 in first grade I was named the class nature nut. I have cared my entire 58 years, and voted and acted accordingly. And yet, here we are.
