spot on, Lorax

spot on, Lorax
🥺
Well guess we’re fucked then, Lorax.
The deep and simple wisdom of that book still moves me.
Caring is no longer their modus operandi…cruelty is what they thrive on. What short in the brain would allow this? Conservatism lying to them and their hatred giving them permission to believe in the lies.

That quote always breaks me. 🥺
#Ghost_Republicans 🫥POTUS47 🫥GOP POLITICAL MAFIA 🫥MAGA until @AGBond fully releases all all info on the Epstein pedophile ring w/victim names redacted OR respond to everything with: AMERICANS ARE WATCHING & WAITING IMPATIENTLY FOR THE EPSTEIN INFO
#Duty2Protect children #Right2Know pedophiles
Timeless words that still resonate deeply. 🌍✨
IIRC this quote was used by the United Healthcare CEO shooter and (maybe?) the Buffalo shooter to justify their violent acts
You can care all you want but if you don't learn how to channel that care into action you're going to destroy yourself. Give people outlets to express how much they care, i.e. advocacy groups for them to join, boycotts, etc. Caring without an outlet leads to extreme spiraling depression.
aww i liked this book (i guess it's on the "woke" list now) but maybe for an odd reason: i kinda live like the onceler...he and eeyore are my spirit animals (and marvin the paranoid android is my spirit machine) 🙂
I want a t-shirt.
Dr Suess was a wise and wonderful man.
Lorax consistently dropping knowledge
The Lorax is wrong.
He was spot on about just everything in that delightful story
The rules are the same. Life is so much easier when we're open, honest and kind.
This was the first book I bought for my son, before he was even born. So incredibly meaningful.
Fixed it.
The Lorax is banned. Laytonville, CA out of fear that children would start an uprising against the logging industry. Later, in Arizona and Georgia, it was banned over concern that it was too critical of capitalism, and that teachers were “brainwashing” childre
Just found my children's book yesterday. Read it and wept.
Have they banned this book yet?
The amazing philosophy of Dr Seuss, written for kids but meant for everybody
The truth about who they really are and what they do! chng.it/sqKpqSqfTz Please translate, read ans share.
Corruption et haute trahison à tous les étages ! Mafia sociétale mondiale. Vol organisé !
Anti-Theism is the ONLY way life will EVER progress♥️💯
context IIRC: he was saying this to a rich guy, don't nag at people that are tired of giving 220% that they aren't caring enough
True
Also: a masterwork by Judy Bari. #EarthFirst
More like, “Even if someone like you cares a whole awful lot, nothing’s going to get better. It’s not.”
Words to live by.
Unless you… but not me. I walk away with a big empty factory and a seed I couldn’t be bothered to plant myself.
One of the most powerful reminders change really does start with the ones who care enough to try.
Looks like Colbert with the mustache
Yes indeed. I started a radical environmental group in 1990 called The Lorax Society. I put out a couple newsletter then got shut down by a cease-and-desist from Random House.
Maybe it's time to reanimate it.
Exactly, 💯
A book that was published way before it’s time.
True, but what can I do? Get an automatic weapon and take out as many autocrats as I can before being killed myself? Unlikely to change anything, and I wouldn't even have the satisfaction of knowing if it helped.
I think I've become The Lorax, somewhat, in my 'maturing years'. But hopefully a bit more doey and a little less lecturey... 🤔
The Lorax Must be a political activist.
He’s coming back as a winged honey badger
I disagree. No amount of caring that I've done is solving anything of consequence. We need regulation, laws, a working government - something (because we don't have superheroes) that can keep the largest abusers in line. Without that, caring doesn't do squat.
It’s true.
😒
I just watched this again too!! It's a really good little movie!
You mean this Dr. Seuss? www.cnn.com/2015/05/28/l...
A California auction house is selling a racist early drawing by Dr. Seuss that’s sure to disappoint the parents and children who adore his later work.
I call bullshit. I've cared my entire life. In 1973 in first grade I was named the class nature nut. I have cared my entire 58 years, and voted and acted accordingly. And yet, here we are.
We are the answer. 🥹
Onceler for president...
Love the Lorax! I always wanted to make a cut out of him to put in places they cut trees!
My favourite book 😍
no point to caring without action
