I try to remain positive on main. I don't bad mouth other comics or other publishers because it's quite frankly unprofessional.

But Valiant has apparently made it clear that they don't wanna work with people like me anyway, because how in the actual ever-loving fuck did this ever make it to print.

I pride myself on my professionalism in comics. I don't talk shit about books I don't enjoy. I am happy when folks get gigs even if I wish I landed them.

So when I say the transphobic bullshit in the new BLOODSHOT #1 comic is disgusting and should have never made it to print. Shameful shit.

Transphobic panels from the new Bloodshot #1 where the lead describes young people being allowed to become vampires by their parents using the exact same language that bigots use to describe trans children

  1. What the fuck?!

So it looks like the packager—Alien Books—is putting it together for Valiant.

Alien Books has a sub-distribution deal with IDW.

Who saw this? I assume Valiant approved Alien Books' work, and signed off on writer Mauro Mantella. Does IDW look at what they're distributing? Not good.

  2. It is this type of tacit endorsement that perpetuates false narratives. Hate to see it, especially in comics, one of the most welcoming environments of all the geekdoms.

  3. I'll be honest, I don't pick up a lot of comics the past few years, because broke, and even then, Valiant titles are something I'm only vaguely familiar with.

So it maybe doesn't mean much that I won't buy their comics now when I wasn't before, but nevertheless, I'm definitely not going to start.
