  1. Probably better that if you are convicted of a felony you should never again be allowed to vote and definitely shouldn't be allowed to hold any public office. Ever.

If felon Trump can be president than that should be shoved in the face of every GOP twit

  3. Just like the one we have in Florida. We voted against this but DeSatan & his corrupt super majority overrode the will of the voters. 🤬

  4. Thank you Tony Evers. Hey Wisconsin you really need better policies and better policy makers in your semi blue state. Try democrats, they get shit done, and they do not molest children.

  5. Voter Suppression and Gerrymandering has been going on for years and it has recently become normalized

  6. Good. DeSantis overrode the will of the people by adding this bs to a law voters had approved.

  7. DeSantis instituted this requirement in FL when we voted to give voting rights back to most felons who served their time. The state of FL couldn't even tell the returning voters what they owed which made the whole thing ridiculous. Money was raised to help them pay but most can't even get an amount.

  8. Forgiveness for murdering/maiming Capitol Police…forgiveness for raping young children for just you/your buddies, forgiveness to blackmailers, cheats and deadheads … And WE pay the tab

  9. Of course it is... having debt to the State has NOTHING to do with your right to vote. Do you lose your right to vote if you default on a student loan or defraud the government. NO!!! ASIDE from the fact that you have ALREADY paid the societal price by being sent to prison; more is double jeopardy.

    @jem6.bsky.social

With a felon in the White House with outstanding fines it sounds right to veto.

  11. The CIA whistleblower said there was an audit on the 2024 election and Kamala did win.

    IS THIS TRUE?

  12. We’ll miss you Tony Evers! You’re the best, quiet, smart, getting things done despite our horrible republican legislators.

  13. States who deny felons the right to vote after they have served there time and kid their debt to society are anti American fascist states. There are to many people in this country who have forgot how the law works in the United States. We aren’t Russia or Belarus.

  14. Yes!!!!! Floriduh has that provision, and many felons who have done their time can NOT find out the actual amount they owe so they can get their rights restored! DeathSantis makes it almost impossible!!!!

  15. What they did in Florida after a bipartisan, very popular ballot initiative passed to give felons who served their sentences back their vote. The legislature nullified it with this exact rule — the Fla Gov signed it

  16. Trump would have to pay $85 million to the woman he was convicted of raping. It's a civil court verdict but he IS a convicted felon.

  17. Good for him. A lousy republican would not have done that. Like here in Florida. This is a good day for Democracy. Thank you for posting it.

  18. If the criminals whom the despot pardoned had $1.5 billion in fines and restitution forgiven, then the fair thing would be to forgive the fines and legal fees owed by these people. AND, they served their time while the people whom the despot pardoned did not.

  19. Dear God...The @GOP would be arresting every single DEM on trumped up charges, adding on bogus fines and fees to each and everyone of them. They know they are outnumbered!

  20. Ron DeSantis imposed this requirement after the citizens of the Free State of Florida voted overwhelmingly to grant returning felons voting rights. Bad ideas take on a life of their own.

  21. My deceased father here in North Carolina was a convicted felon years ago who did his time and penance. His voting privileges were restored as it should have been if you served your time and was back in society as a model working and law abiding citizen. The GOP today will do any shenanigan to win.

  22. It's crazy that the President of the US would be in jail and not allowed to vote if the Justice system held up and the electorate wasn't easily conned.

  23. Scott, DeSantis, and the Republicans in Florida added that law after the voters had approved an amendment to restore voting rights after people served their time. Subverting the will of the people as usual.

  24. Has Trump paid all outstanding legal fees? If not he shouldn't be allowed to vote except Desantis is sycophantic POS!

  25. That's great!

I hear that a lot of WI Medicaid recipients lost their health care last week due to unemployment. Some, if not many of those people have disabilities which interfere with getting and/or keeping jobs. It must be hard enough without losing health care too. Do something.

  26. Well now wait... How much does trmp owe his lawyers... like really, not how much are they gonna say?

    0
  27. Well, white collar felons should have to pay their outstanding legal fees and any restitution before they should have their rights restored.

  28. Funny how repugnicans always seem to be expending so much energy on trying to make it harder for people to vote.

And a note to you folks that choose not to vote: Please do better. Take a minute or two, learn about the issues and candidates, and git yer ass to the ballot box!

  29. In Florida people were actually sent voters cards because the people voted by a 70% approval that they should be allowed to vote. Then that bastard of a governor changed the rules and when they voted they were arrested and these are the people he claimed to have caught “breaking the law”

  30. Marc, do you think Evers would ever run for President? As much as I'm sick of old white men in charge, I'm realistic about the 2028 race. It seems as though Evers would make a great President.

  31. In Australia electoral officials go around every prison and give inmates their constitutional right to vote. Even if it’s a day long drive they will get to remote communities. I think psychologically it reconnects them to world outside and the benefits to their homes: maybe it sill be positive thing

  32. It is the courts should collect fees.If you are hard up for money try MA.4% tax on MM we got $2 billion MORE in revenue than expected because of the millionaires tax. Total revenue for 2025 43.7 billion a + 7.4% more than last year. And when this tax was passed MORE MM MOVED INTO MA.

  33. How about a bill that says billionaires have to pay their fair percentage of owed taxes in full before they can vote or lobby/donate to politicians or a party?

    0
  34. Good for him. That’s what Florida did, making it all but impossible for an ex prisoner to ever vote again.

    0
  35. Florida passed such a bill, and managed to make it worse by not requiring Florida to give former felons the totals owed, but leaving them open to conviction if they don't manage to find each and every hidden fee before voting. Thank you Governor Evers.

  36. One thing about such devious maneuvers is that they incentivize dubious felony charges and excessive fines against opponents. Before long, they will be demanding that back rent be paid on the prison cells. The bar should be extremely high with any restrictions on the right to vote. No poll taxes!

    0
  37. Even thought that requirement would probably hurt the GOP much more than anyone else …. just saying.

  38. DOESNT our laws already stipulate serving their sentences is how they pay back their criminal debt to society? Why is there NO Accountability for laws being pushed that violate civilians Constitutional, civil & basic human rights? 😡 We need jail for them! This is worse than a bag of weed!

  39. Lol! Has the orange turd paid all his fees?

Has his victim received her award yet? His appeal failed in July, what is he waiting for?!?!

    Cons are such hypocrites!

    0
  40. Yeah, Florida did that. People couldn't even find out how much they owed. Feature, not a bug, I guess. Wisconsin isn't Florida so far though.
