The reason I think Grant and Sherman were awesome is simple: they were fucked up, normal folks, who did fucked up things and also saved humanity. Like Perlasca. Or Schindler. Or Falcone. Those folks make you uncomfortable b/c they are imperfect and awesome, begging the question: ‘and you?’
