I’m not saying that the BBC issuing an apology to “the Jewish community” for Bob Vylan’s anti-IDF Glastonbury chant is ridiculous, I’m just saying it’s basically the same as if an act had chanted “death to nonces” and they apologised to all Catholics for any offence caused.

It's worse than that though. It's like a band had shouted "death to the Pontifican Swiss Guard", the Vatican police force, and then had to apologise to all Catholics.
It's a national ARMY FFS. It's not like they denounced the Torah.

It's actually #ANTISEMITIC to conflate the #Israeli Army with the wider #Jewish community (under the #IHRA Rules on what constitutes antisemitism)
-
If he didn’t vilify or call out Jews, it’s not anti-Semitic.
Anybody has the right to call out genocide and the people committing the crime. Period.
-
Whatever you think you are saying, it’s offensive, and indicates you are not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Western "asajews" do not represent Israel, or are interested in it's survival. Their lives and safety does not depend on the IDF. This BBC apology is completely misplaced to say the least.

They need to look report shit like this Trigger Warning SA www.reddit.com/r/suppressed...
From the suppressed_news community on Reddit: A video shows 'Israeli' soldiers raping a Palestinian prisoner.

The IDF should stop killing innocent civilians.

Yet more antisemitism from the BBC in defence of the Israeli state apparatus: the BBC is a contradiction wrapped up in nonsense smeared with dog shit.
-
They're buying into the framing that Israel is Judaism, and Judaism is Israel. If you criticize any actions of Israel, you are in fact criticizing all Jewish people, so the BBC issued their apology accordingly.
Ethnostate go brrrrrrrr

When did criticism of the Israeli state and it's various divisions become anti semitic? Isn't Israel (to put it bluntly) more than a collection of people of the Jewish faith?
-
But it isn’t the BBC. It’s the government as well. Which is worse! While those in power conflate criticism of a regime committing genocide with hate and discrimination of a religious group, terrorists like Netanyahu will have a free pass to commit whatever atrocities they want.
-
Yea it's pretty much like someone had chanted "we do not like n*zis" and BBC would be issuing an apology to all German citizens.
-
If I went on the BBC and said all jews support the IDF I would rightly be censured but apparently the BBC is ok to do this.
-
So Jews, Israelis and the IDF are pretty much the same thing after all?
-
A better comparison would be chanting “Death to Americans” because you don't like what Trump is doing.
-
I understand what you’re an it is not remotely like that.

It the IDF represents the Jewish community, the Jewish community needs to look in the mirror.
-
Imagine for a moment a Jewish man (like myself, say) during WWII chanting Death to the Gestapo. Would the same people getting their knickers all in a twist over Bob Vylan (who's killed 0 people as opposed to the IDF having killed & wounded over 200,000) say this was anti-German & hate speech?
-
The BBC doing an antisemitism by conflating Israel with all other Jews.
-
Exactly, I am Jewish but I'm really not owed an apology for people being angry at the army of another country committing genocide and I don't want to be identified with it, thanks very much.

Well said!
